Dr. Hyung-tae Kim, the director of Yeson Voice Center was invited to the 24th World Professional Association for Transgender Health (WPATH) held from 14th to 18th of February and made a presentation with regards to his study. It was the first time that a Korean doctor was invited to such a large symposium and got an opportunity to share the result of the study and practice. During this 24th WPATH, a number of professionals from 50 different countries were gathered and made an international exchange of information on the extent of transsexual’s health, welfare, education, recent surgical method and so forth. Especially during this conference, Dr. Hyung-tae Kim has made a pitch on his research finding regarding “Vocal Folds Shortening and Advancement of Anterior Commissure.” All the transgender surgery specialist participated in this symposium was amazed by this surgery result and technique which draws the best outcome in elevating one’s voice fundamental frequency with minimized risk and damage to the vocal folds tissue granting a fast recovery and naturally higher pitch without having to incise the neck skin.
