The 2nd Medical Charity Project 2023 was held on October 4, 2023 and completed on November 13, 2023.
Yeson Voice Center has participated in the medicla charity project hosted by the Ministry of Health and Welfare and organized by the Korea Health Industry Development Institute.
Yeson Voice Center is providing the medical care for kids diagnosed with laryngeal papillomatosis.
This is being implemented with the purpose of helping children regain their voices and giving them a better life and new dreams, and this practice of sharing also greatly contributes to promoting the excellence of Korean medical care to the world.
It was conducted on Manarbek Yeraly (7 years old), a Kazakh citizen, the second patient with laryngeal papilloma in 2023 for the medical charity project.
Laryngeal papilloma, which the patient suffers from, is a disease in which dozens of tumors (warts) cover the vocal cords, and in the case of the pediatric type, the recurrence rate is up to 80%.
Manarbek Yeraly had difficulty breathing due to worsening laryngeal papilloma, so he had to undergo an emergency tracheotomy in his home country.
To prevent laryngeal papillomas from getting worse, Yeson Voice Center performed four laryngeal microlaryngeal surgeries to remove laryngeal papillomas on the vocal cords during this sharing medical period.
Yeson Voice Center promised continuous follow-up care, including continuous monitoring of the patients' condition through the coordinator in charge.
Yeson Voice Center has been treating 25 overseas children with incurable diseases free of charge through the medical charity project since 2011, and the patients who returned to their home countries after receiving treatment expressed their gratitude through photos and videos of their healthy appearance after surgery.
Dr. Hyung-tae Kim, the director of Yeson Voice Center, said, “It is very heartbreaking to see children struggling to breathe due to relapses without treatment in countries where the level of medical care is not high.” “It is truly rewarding to see children smiling brightly and in good health after undergoing surgery in Korea through Sharing Medicine. I hope to continue to give hope to more children,” he said.
