2015 Medical Charity opportunity was offered to the two child patients from Apr 10th to Apr 28th. Medical Charity program organized by Ministry of Health and Welfare and sponsored by KHIDI is giving child patients from developing countries an opportunity of having the treatment at no cost every year. This project was initiated from 2012 twice every year. This year, the offerees of this event were Artem Shukhart from Russia and Zeng Boyuan from China. Both of them are diagnosed with Laryngeal Papillomatosis. The patient from Russia has been suffering from the shortness of breath for the last 3 months because of the Laryngeal Papilloma he’s diagnosed with. Despite several times of surgeries in the past, the condition didn’t get any better but got worse resulting in having the tracheal tube inserted in his throat. The Chinese patient was diagnosed with Laryngeal Papilloma since he was only 8-months-old. He has to go through more than 12 times of Laryngeal Papilloma surgeries since then but he couldn’t also avoid having the tracheal tube inserted.
Both of these patients had three times of surgeries in Yeson Voice Center and finally Artem was completely healed this time and the tracheal tube was taken away. Dr. Hyung-Tae Kim, the director of Yeson Voice Center has stated that it’s his goal to treat all the patients with laryngeal diseases making it possible to breathe in and out on their own without an aid of any medical device or further surgeries.
