Medical Charity Project organized and
sponsored by KHIDI was managed from Oct 13th to Oct 27that Yeson Voice Center. The aim of this project is to promote Korea’s advanced
medical technology and to financially help child patients from developing
countries.
This time this special offer was given to
Irina Cheles, 8-year-old girl from Moldova. She was firstly diagnosed with
laryngeal papilloma known as a hardly curable disease.
For 3 years from 2012, Irina has had
surgeries at Yeson Voice Center and nearly got her voice back with no
difficulties breathing anymore but she couldn’t have further treatment back in
Moldova due to financial difficulties.
Since 2016 she could have 12 times of
surgeries in Russia for an year but the condition got worsened making it more
difficult for her to breathe. To help her, Yeson Voice Center has invited her
through this medical charity offer.
Irina was required to have 3 times of
surgeries to improve breathing capacity and returned home and now she’s
awaiting for further treatment back in Yeson Voice Center.
Dr. Hyung-tae Kim, the director of Yeson
Voice Center said, “It’s very hard to cure this disease completely through the
single time of surgery and the condition can get more deteriorated if they miss
the golden time. I would like to help treat these children who cannot get the
treatment at the right timing through this medical charity project.”
